Local artist Rubio created a mural named “Bruno & Diane Forever” on the exterior of Bruno’s Dive Bar, a Southtown landmark known for its relaxed atmosphere.

The mural honors the original owners, Bruno and Diane Dzanski, who opened the spot as B&D Ice House in 1961, which later became a neighborhood hangout famous for budget-priced beers and mid-century decor.

After Bruno’s retirement in 2014, the owners of The Friendly Spot took over the building and transformed it into a homage to Bruno and Diane’s establishment during the pandemic.

The mural features portraits of the couple in orange, sepia, and grey tones, and it was unveiled during an event with Bruno Dzanski present.
